ABOUT PAUL

For the People

My name is Paul Rennemeyer and I am your candidate for Commissioner in District 3 of Larimer County.

For those of you who do not know me, I am currently the Mayor of Windsor and have been for the last four years. Prior to becoming mayor, I served as an elected councilman for four years. My mayoral term ends on April 22 due to Windsor's rules on term limits, therefore allowing me to expand my scope of service countywide.

That’s why I’m running.

As your commissioner, I am committed to:

  • Fighting for real solutions to combat your property tax burden.

  • Protecting every facet of TABOR

  • Addressing the crime epidemic and improving public safety

  • Securing the county’s critical infrastructure

  • Improving our aging roads and bridges

  • Defending your personal property and other rights granted to you in the Constitution.

During my years of service, I have served on many local and regional boards such as the North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Windsor Downtown Alliance, the Historic Preservation Commission, the Great Western Trail Authority, and the Kern Reservoir Board of Directors. I have collaborated with State leaders to secure relief funds for local businesses during COVID, negotiated with CDOT to improve highways impacting my community, and championed the growth and development of the Windsor Police Department. Under my leadership, Windsor has become a thriving community and is one of the safest places to live and raise a family in Colorado. As I finish my term as Mayor, I am honored to have helped bring the Future Legends Sports Complex to Windsor, it will be a regional draw for tourism to Northern Colorado for many years to come. I am also proud of Windsor’s economic strength that is a result of my collaboration with the Windsor Chamber of Commerce during COVID to support our local economy. I personally attended over 300 new business ribbon cuttings and anniversaries within the first two years of my tenure as Mayor.

Northern Colorado is a special and beautiful place to live, work, and play because of people like you. I want to continue to champion our voices.

VALUES

Honoring the Past to Preserve the Future

I hold a deep reverence for the veterans who have bravely served our country, recognizing the incredible sacrifices they have made to preserve our freedom. Both of my grandfathers served in World War II; one endured the harrowing experience of being a prisoner of war, yet emerged with stories of resilience and patriotism that have deeply influenced me. Their unwavering commitment to our nation instilled in me a profound sense of duty and gratitude.

This year, I had the distinct honor of laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier alongside my children. It was a poignant reminder of the countless heroes who have selflessly given their lives for our country, and a moment I hope will inspire future generations to honor and uphold the values for which they fought.
